Showing action in a photograph helps the viewer to
understand what was happening when the picture was taken. This photo was taken
of my friend throwing an apple into the air. This photo has no blur except for
the apple which is a littleblurry from the throw. The center of interest is her face,
it has light reflecting off it which draws the eye. A viewers eye would also go
straight for the apple because she is looking up at it. The apple has its own
space with it not touch the trees around it. This photo has balance with having
her face on one half and the apple on the other. I like this picture because it
has two main places that the eye is drawn to instead of just one.

Saxaphone
Music and photography go together by them both being a
Fine Art. They are both things I have always loved and being able to combine
them was very special for me. This
photo was taken with a digital camera and edited in Photoshop to make it black and
white. The original photo had very bland, boring colors but turning it into
black and white made the photograph look more appealing and allowed the viewer to concentrate on the subject. The center of interest
is the mouth piece of the saxophone. It is focused and close to the camera,
drawing the viewers eye. The photo is well balanced, with a blank
wall on either side of the subject, not allowing distractions. This photograph is important to me because it reminds
me of the time when I played saxophone in my middle school band.

Lighting Candle
Lighting is an important element in photography. It can make
a normal photo look more dramatic and intense. This photo was taken of
my mom lighting a red candle and the light from the flames is being reflected off
the candle. The center of interest in the photograph is
the flame. The center of interest in not in the middle. There is a good amount of negative space in the black background, drawing the viewers eye.
Black and White Camera
Taking a photograph is unique for a photographer because
they are documenting something they do themselves. This photograph reminds me
of the love I have for photography with the camera being the center of interest.
This photo was taken with a digital camera and was edited in Photoshop, it was
originally color then changed to an intense black and white. The center of
interest, the camera, is defined because of how the background is pure white,
the shapes of triangles in the camera lens also attracts the eye. The camera doesn’t
intersect with anything making it more appealing and easier to see and look at.
I am pleased with how this picture turned out and the way that the black and
white made it look.

Spinning Apple
Motion blur is a favorite effect in photography for me. This was a taken with a digital camera and edited in Photoshop. The apple, though not sharp, is the obvious center of interest. There is a balance of oranges, greens, and reds because of the blur in the background. The only shapes that are shown are circles, with the blur making circles around the round apple. This is a new favorite photo of mine.
Water Falling
Taking a photograph of water hitting a creek, river, or lake
has been something I have wanted to achieve in my photography experience. This picture
makes me proud because I was able to finish my goal. This photo was taken on
a film camera so it was developed in the darkroom. I only did dodging a burning
in Photoshop instead of in the darkroom. The dominate area in this photograph, or
center of interest, is the water falling, which contains the rule of thirds and
a triangle where the water is starting to drip, attracting the viewer’s eye.
This area shows movement with the water falling. There is a good balance in
this picture with both sides of the water stream being surrounded by leaves and
rocks. I’m very pleased with my final
product.
